Teaching Good Citizenship and Emergency Preparedness

WeatherBug has partnered with the National Weather Service (NWS) in an important Homeland Security initiative, the Homeland Security WeatherBug Network. Whenever a Homeland Security incident or natural disaster occurs, NWS can tap into WeatherBug's network of 8,000 schools and 100 TV stations to speed local weather information to the appropriate government agencies and emergency workers.

Participating in the WeatherBug Schools Program provides a safe and responsible way for schools to contribute to Homeland Security efforts. Students will learn valuable lessons in civic responsibility and emergency preparedness. Your school and community will benefit from improved access to live local weather information during times of emergency - information that can save lives and property.
